Chief Medical Officer Steven Lewis, M.D.

Steven Lewis, M.D., joined FMC in March 2007 as the vice president of Medical Affairs and chief medical officer.

Dr. Lewis provides physician leadership and monitors the quality of care patients receive at FMC. Additionally, Dr. Lewis serves as a liaison between medical staff, nursing staff and administration providing a continuous focus on quality patient care initiatives.

Prior to joining FMC, Dr. Lewis served as the regional medical director at Intermountain Healthcare, Dixie Regional Medical Center, in St. George, Utah.
Dr. Lewis is a board-certified pulmonologist and intensivist (specialty trained to care for patients in intensive care units), and served as the medical director of the intensive care unit and respiratory therapy department at Dixie Regional Medical Center.

Dr. Lewis earned his bachelor's of arts degree at the University of Hawaii and his medical degree at the University of Washington School of Medicine. His postgraduate medical education includes an internship, residency and fellowship at the University of Washington, as well as a fellowship at the American College of Chest Physicians.
