Senior Vice President & Chief Medical Officer Steven Lewis, M.D.

Steven Lewis, M.D., provides physician leadership and leads FMC's clinical quality and process improvement initiatives, and is responsible for clinical integration. He also is responsible for the employed physician group at FMC. He serves as the liaison between administration, medical staff and nursing staff, providing leadership in all areas of clinical practice at FMC.

Prior to joining FMC, Dr. Lewis served as Senior Vice President of Intermountain Healthcare, Senior Executive Vice President of the Mount Carmel Health System and most recently as Regional Medical Director of Clinical Programs in the Southwest Region of IHC. He is board certified in internal medical, pulmonary diseases and critical care medicine. He has served as Medical Director of Intensive Care and held clinical teaching appointments at the University of Utah School of Medicine, Brigham Young University and Ohio State University.

Dr. Lewis earned his Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Hawaii and his medical degree at the University of Washington School of Medicine. His completed his post graduate education internship and residency at the University of Washington, where he also served as Chief Medical Resident. He completed a pulmonary fellowship at the University of Washington and is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Medicine.
