Irwin (Irv) Bloom, B.S., M.B.A., serves as FMC's interim president and CEO. Bloom first joined FMC as a consultant in May 2011 before being named vice president of Ancillary Services in December 2011. Prior to being named interim president, Bloom was responsible for the oversight of FMC’s cardiovascular, behavioral health, children’s health, therapy, nutrition, environmental, security, facilities and plant operations services.
With nearly 40 years of experience in healthcare leadership, Bloom’s expertise includes administration and management, physician and staff development, strategic planning, financial oversight and program development. His administrative roles include chief executive officer at North Charles Hospital, Baltimore, Md.; a vice president at Johns Hopkins Hospital and Johns Hopkins Health System in Baltimore. He also has provided oversight of major radiology and imaging practices and he served for many years as a senior partner in healthcare consulting firms. Additionally, Bloom has worked throughout the U.S. in other prestigious medical facilities including Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, Newark, N.J.; and D.C. Health & Hospitals Public Benefit Corp., Washington, D.C.
Bloom earned his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Baltimore, Baltimore, Md.; and his Master of Business Administration at Loyola College, Baltimore, Md.
