Ninth annual Century Ride big success

July 28, 2009

For the ninth year, The Century Ride, sponsored by Absolute Bikes and Sodexo, gave avid cyclists and citizen riders the opportunity to ride through the amazing views of Northern Arizona while benefiting a good cause.

This year, 327 riders donated close to $18,000 to benefit The Taylor House and the Cancer Centers of Northern Arizona Healthcare. Flagstaff Medical Center’s Taylor House provides lodging and supportive services in a caring environment for families of patients receiving medical care away from home. The Cancer Centers of NAH, with locations in Sedona and Flagstaff, are devoted to improving cancer care through advanced technology, while earning the trust and respect of families and patients through individualized care.

Thank you to the primary sponsors of the event including Sodexo, which provided a post-event barbeque for all riders and volunteers; Smith and Nephew, which provided t-shirts for participants; and Absolute Bikes, which provided operational support and direction.

Additionally, thank you to the following local businesses whose generosity helped make this year’s ride successful: Albertsons, Biffs Bagels, Coyote Cookie Café, Farmer’s Market, FMC Foundation, FMC Sports Medicine Center, Guardian Medical Transport, Late for the Train, Nackard Companies, Pesto Brothers, as well as many community and FMC volunteers.
