Free diabetes, blood pressure and cholesterol screenings in February in Flagstaff

Northern Arizona residents are invited to participate in free diabetes, blood pressure and cholesterol screenings through the Northern Arizona Diabetes – Heart Connection program funded by a grant from the AstraZeneca HealthCare Foundation. The screenings include an American Diabetes Association “Are you at risk?” questionnaire; a finger-stick cholesterol and blood sugar test; blood pressure check; and a brief review of results and local resources with a healthcare professional.

The free screenings are scheduled throughout the month of February in six convenient locations in Flagstaff. No appointment is necessary. For more information, call 928-853-0879.

The Northern Arizona Diabetes – Heart Connection is part of Diabetes Together, a collaboration and community health initiative between regional healthcare, government, education and fitness organizations, as well as community members.

For the second year, the programs are funded by a grant from the AstraZeneca HealthCare Foundation’s Connections for Cardiovascular HealthSM  program. The program supports innovative work in the field of cardiovascular health. FMC is one of only 22 organizations nationwide to receive second-year funding through the program since its launch in 2010.
