Don’t just sit, get fit this summer! Fit kids and fit families is the topic of the May Take Note Flagstaff Lecture Series, sponsored by Flagstaff Medical Center. The Tuesday, June 18 lecture features Fit Kids of Arizona dietitian Sara Pinson, R.D. The free presentation is 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. at the East Flagstaff Community Library, 3000 N. Fourth Street. Pinson specializes in helping kids and their parents incorporate healthy eating choices into their everyday life, in simple and fun ways. She will discuss colorful and simple ways to increase healthy food choices and incorporate fun activities into daily routines.
Fit Kids of Arizona is a program focused on helping children improve their health while reducing the health consequences related to childhood obesity. Fit Kids of Arizona includes the clinical services as well as community services to help children and their families live healthy lifestyles. The Fit Kids clinical team is made up of medical, nutritional, fitness and behavioral experts who work on an individual basis with children and their families. The goal is to identify health concerns and problem areas and then guide the participant and family members in setting goals for improvement.
