Northern Arizona Healthcare named top performing healthcare system in U.S., as reported by Modern Healthcare
Northern Arizona Healthcare is among the nation’s top performing healthcare systems in the U.S., as reported in Modern Healthcare. The April 15 publication listed Northern Arizona Healthcare (NAH) as being ranked in the top 20 percent of more than 325 healthcare systems and 2200 member hospitals in a recent study by Truven Health Analytics. NAH joins 21 other small hospital systems from throughout the U.S. in the ranking. Truven evaluated healthcare systems on eight measures to determine which systems had the best clinical performance, highest efficiencies and greatest patient satisfaction.
“Northern Arizona Healthcare’s vision is to be a model healthcare system distinguished by our people, quality, service and our dedication to community health solutions,” said Christopher Bavasi, Northern Arizona Healthcare Board of Directors chair. “To be named a top performing healthcare system and earn multiple awards is a testament to the dedication of our Board of Directors, physicians, nurses and staff to achieve our vision on a daily basis. We are committed to providing excellent healthcare services to our patients.”
NAH provides healthcare services through Flagstaff Medical Center, Verde Valley Medical Center (with campuses in Cottonwood and Sedona), Northern Arizona Homecare and Hospice, The Heart & Vascular Center of Northern Arizona, Cancer Centers of Northern Arizona Healthcare, Fit Kids of Arizona and Guardian Air. The system provides the only Level I Trauma Center and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit north of Phoenix.
NAH is the largest healthcare organization in Northern and Central Arizona, serving almost one half of the state and experiencing more than 150,000 patient visits each year. NAH employs close to 3,000 staff and has nearly 300 physicians on its medical staff. As a not-for-profit healthcare system, NAH is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors.
