Kids can Explore the World of Livin' Science at FMC's Fantastic Voyage

Sept. 20, 2010

As part of the 2010 Livin’ Science citywide Festival of Science, Flagstaff Medical Center (FMC) will host Fantastic Voyage from noon – 4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 25 at the hospital, 1200 N. Beaver Street. This event is designed for school-age children and will feature displays and hands-on activities promoting exploration of the human body and healthcare.

Activities will include an opportunity to see a medical helicopter and ambulance up close, children can discover how their voice works, learn about germs, look deep into their ear canal, listen to a baby’s heartbeat, play games and more.

Together, kids and their parents can learn valuable information about their bodies and how to keep themselves healthy. Kids can bring their Festival of Science passport and have it stamped too.

This year, Fantastic Voyage will be hosting Pregnant Pause. It is intended to raise awareness about the dangers of drinking while pregnant. Sip and vote as local restaurants compete for the best non-alcoholic beverage.

Fantastic Voyage is an annual event held in conjunction with the 10-day Flagstaff Festival of Science. For more information, call FMC Public Relations at 773-2080.
