Machine Solutions Run for CHC benefits chronically ill and disabled children

July, 26 2010
For more than 30 years, runners and walkers have enjoyed Flagstaff’s fresh air, pines and high altitude while helping to support the medical needs of children by participating in the Machine Solutions Run for CHC. The annual fund-raiser, which benefits the Children’s Health Center (CHC) at Flagstaff Medical Center, draws participants of all ages and ability. CHC provides specialty pediatric outpatient clinics and healthcare for Northern Arizona children with disabilities or chronic illnesses.

This year’s event, scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 7, offers a 5K and 10K trail run or a 2K family fitness walk/run along Soldiers Trail at the Fort Tuthill County Fairgrounds, located just two miles south of Flagstaff on I-17, exit 337. Soldiers Trail winds through pines and over unique mountain terrain. The event is the fifth run in the sixth annual Flagstaff Summer Running Series.

Early registration fees (before Aug. 5) are $35 for the 5K ($40 after Aug. 5) and $40 for the 10K ($45 after Aug. 5). Fees for the 2K family fitness run are $50 for up to four family members and $20 for individual participants.

Registration is from 6:30 – 7:30 a.m. at the Posse Ramada, with the races beginning at 8 a.m. All participants will receive a T-shirt. Awards will be given to the overall men’s and women’s winners in both the 5K and 10K runs, and the top-three winners in each age category in the 5K and 10K runs.

To pre-register before Aug. 5, visit virtualroster.com or call 928 773-2135.
