In an effort to enhance the quality of life for cancer survivors, their families and caregivers, the Arizona Cancer Coalition is partnering with the Cancer Centers of Northern Arizona Healthcare (CCNAH) and North Country HealthCare to host a conference in Northern Arizona: Cancer 101 – Serving your clients who have cancer. The free, one-day conference is 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday, May 11, in Flagstaff Medical Center’s McGee Auditorium, 1200 N. Beaver St. Lunch and snacks provided. The goal of the conference is to provide insight to caregivers, professionals and community leaders into the cancer journey experienced by individuals. Participants will come away with tools and information to better support and care for their friends, neighbors and clientele who have been diagnosed with cancer.
In addition to presentations, participants will have the opportunity to interact with multiple agencies and information booths featuring community resources to help assist cancer patients’ needs including alternative therapies, support groups and services provided by the Cancer Centers of Northern Arizona Healthcare, Flagstaff Medical Center, North Country HealthCare and American Cancer Society.
