Machine Solutions Run for CHC benefits chronically ill and disabled children

June 1, 2011

For more than 30 years, runners and walkers have enjoyed Flagstaff’s fresh air, pines and high altitude while helping to support the medical needs of children by participating in the Machine Solutions Run for CHC. The annual fund-raiser, which benefits the Children’s Health Center (CHC) at Flagstaff Medical Center, draws participants of all ages and ability. CHC provides specialty pediatric outpatient clinics and healthcare for Northern Arizona children with disabilities or chronic illnesses.

This year’s event set for Saturday, Aug. 6, offers a 5K and 10K trail run or a 2K family fitness walk/run along Soldiers Trail at the Fort Tuthill County Fairgrounds, located just two miles south of Flagstaff on I-17, exit 337. Soldiers Trail winds through pines and over unique mountain terrain. The event is the fifth run in the sixth annual Flagstaff Summer Running Series.

New this year! All runners can pick up their registration packets with their bib numbers and dri-fit shirts between 4 and 7 p.m. on Friday the 5th of August at:

Run Flagstaff
204A East Route 66

Flagstaff, AZ 86001

If you can’t make it Friday night, you can still pick up the registration packets on the morning of the race between 6:30 and 7:30 am. at the Posse Ramada at Fort Tuthill County Park. All races will begin promptly at 8 a.m.

Registration fees are $35 for the 5K and $40 for the 10K; fees for the 2K family fitness run are $50 for up to four family members or $20 for individual participants.

Check in is 6:30 – 7:30 a.m. at the Posse Ramada, with the races beginning at 8 a.m.

All participants will receive a dri-fit running shirt. Awards will be given to the overall men’s and women’s winners in both the 5K and 10K, and the top-three winners in each age category in the 5K and 10K. New this year, chip timing for all 5K and 10K runners.
