Free CPR and First Aid for Infants classes

Flagstaff Medical Center’s Childbirth Education Department, in partnership with the FMC Foundation, Flagstaff Exchange Club, Flagstaff Public Library and Flagstaff Federated Community Church are offering two free courses in the American Heart Association Family and Friends CPR and First Aid for Infants program.

Two classes for the community are being offered:

  • 6 – 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 4 at Flagstaff Federated Community Church, 400 W. Aspen Ave. (Rees Room)
  • 6 – 8:30 p.m., Thursday, May 26 at Flagstaff Public Library, 300 W. Aspen Ave.

The program is a two-and-a half-hour safety course designed for parents, family, friends and caregivers of infants from newborn to 12 months of age. Participants will learn to respond to crisis situations, deliver CPR, relieve choking and deliver first-aid care to manage emergency illness and injury until professional help arrives. Topics also include injury prevention, environmental emergencies and car seat safety education. Participants will receive two American Heart Association books. This is a non-certification course.
