Fellowships recognized top physicians, scientists and researchers in their fields. They must meet specific criteria including continuing practice in the field of infectious diseases, national or local recognition as an expert and publication of their work.

Dr. Lacy has been on staff at FMC since 2001. He is board-certified in infectious diseases, internal medicine and pediatrics. He specializes in infectious diseases, travel medicine, hospital infection control, HIV/AIDS medicine and international health. In addition to his fellowship in the IDSA, Dr. Lacy is also a fellow of the American College of Physicians.

In 2005, Dr. Lacy spearheaded the efforts to establish FMC’s Shándíín Project, offering medical service as well as education, outreach and support for those affected by HIV and AIDS. The Shándíín Project serves a geographic region larger than the states of New York and Connecticut combined. In cooperation with Dr. Lacy, the Shándíín Project objective is to improve access to high-quality, multidisciplinary and culturally sensitive HIV/AIDS education, outreach and services for Northern Arizona residents.
