Special Care Nursery Reunion Picnic – June 8

May 21, 2013

For nearly 20 years, Flagstaff Medical Center’s Special Care Nursery Reunion Picnic has been a special day set aside to recognize any child who spent time in an intensive care nursery at birth and their immediate family. This year’s free picnic is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, June 8, at Marshall Elementary School, 850 N. Bonito St., Flagstaff. Lunch is served at 11 a.m.; no RSVP necessary.
The picnic recognizes that some newborn babies require a little extra special care when they are born. Flagstaff Medical Center’s Special Care Nursery provides these babies with sensitive care and continuing support for critically ill newborn infants. The reunion gives Special Care Nursery staff a chance to see how some of FMC’s smallest patients are doing year to year.

Activities will feature games, prizes and more. Guardian Medical Transport’s monster ambulance will be there as well as Flagstaff Fire Department’s ladder truck. Picnic food, activities and contests are free to any child who has spent time in any special care nursery, as well as their brothers, sisters and parents.
