“Secrets of the heart: Heart disease exposed” is the topic of the February Take Note Flagstaff Lecture Series, sponsored by Flagstaff Medical Center. The Tuesday, Feb. 18 lecture features interventional cardiologist Omar Wani, M.D. The free presentation is 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. at the East Flagstaff Community Library, 3000 N. Dr. Wani will discuss signs, symptoms and risk factors of coronary artery disease (heart disease), revealing why it is the number one killer of people in the U.S. Additionally, Dr. Wani will outline treatment options available for those diagnosed with heart disease. 

Dr. Wani is an interventional cardiologist with the Heart & Vascular Center of Northern Arizona. He serves as the medical director of FMC’s Cardiology and Cardiac Rehabilitation and chair of Internal Medicine. Specializing in interventional cardiac and vascular medicine, he is well-respected for his extensive research in cardiovascular medicine, which includes published articles, reference books and presentations.
