12th annual Pepsi-Cola Taylor House Century Ride set for July 21
The 12th annual Pepsi-Cola Taylor House Century Ride, set for Saturday, July 21, will give cyclists the opportunity to ride through the amazing views of Northern Arizona while supporting a good cause. As always, the proceeds will benefit The Taylor House, a special home away from home for the families of patients who are being cared for at Flagstaff Medical Center (FMC).
The 95-mile mountain route begins at FMC and winds through historic Flagstaff, Wupatki and Sunset Crater national monuments, and back to FMC. 65-, 45- and 30-mile loops are also available. All routes wind through historic Flagstaff, and then loop through the cool pines and red rock desert of Northern Arizona.
More than 300 cyclists are expected to participate in this annual ride which begins with a group start at 7 a.m.; check in is at 6 a.m. Riders leave from Flagstaff Medical Center west campus parking lot, on the corner of Beaver Street and Forest Avenue.
Registration is $60 per person. Cyclists on a first-come, first-served basis will receive a 2012 commemorative t-shirt and water bottle. In addition to a 2012 commemorative t-shirt and water bottle donors of $150 will receive a $35 Absolute Bikes gift certificate; $500 donors will receive a $75 Absolute Bikes gift certificate; and $750 donors will receive a $100 Absolute Bikes gift certificate and a custom 2012 Taylor House Ride cycling jersey.
All riders are invited to attend a Friday night packet pick-up dinner from 5 – 7 p.m.at Louie’s Chicken Shack, 1502 S. Milton Rd., Flagstaff. There also will be a catered lunch provided by Papa John’s Pizza on Saturday at the end of the ride to celebrate their accomplishment.
