Native American Cardiology
Among its services, FMC has a dedicated Native American Cardiology program. The Native American Cardiology Program was developed in 1993 as a Center for Excellence in Cardiology through a collaboration between Indian Health Services, the University of Arizona and Tucson's Veteran's Affairs Medical Center. This program was developed to provide direct cardiovascular care to Native Americans at reservation clinics within Arizona, Utah and Nevada. By collaborating with FMC, the need for travel to Tucson by those who live on reservations in Northern Arizona can be decreased.
