Patient Registration

Patient Registration may be the first contact for patients. While adhering to the standards and guidelines as directed by the Arizona Hospital Association and other state and federal agencies, our friendly and caring patient representatives register patients for a variety of procedures. They are responsible for timely and accurate pre-admission and outpatient admissions.

Our patients may be scheduled and pre-registered by telephone up to two weeks in advance of their procedures. When a patient pre-registers, PAS contacts their insurance company for any authorizations that are required in advance of their services. When the patient arrives for services, they are asked to sign our Condition of Admission form. We provide them with information regarding our safety policy, HIPAA policies, Living Will and Medical Power of Attorney. We ask for a form of identification, such as a driver’s license; their patient account is then activated and they may proceed to their service.

If a patient has not been pre-registered and a medical condition requires an immediate test or exam be done, they are considered to be in a stand-by status. We will register the patient when they arrive for services, adhering to the above process. An appropriate call to insurance companies will be made. Stand-by patients may experience some delays due to the process of obtaining insurance authorizations while they wait.

Whether pre-registered or a stand-by patient, our goal is to provide excellent customer service to all our patients. We uphold a high standard of perfection and professionalism and adhere to all Corporate Compliance policies while assisting patients, medical staff and hospital departments with the registration process.
