Srijana Zarkou, M.D.

Expertise and Special Interests

Dr. Zarkou specializes in adult neurology, which includes the evaluations and treatment of nerve and brain disorders including epilepsy, stroke, traumatic brain injury, dementia, Parkinson disease, multiple sclerosis, neuromuscular disease and migraine headaches.

She also has completed additional fellowship training focusing on epilepsy and electroencephalography (EEG), a diagnostic test that records the electrical activity of the brain. She also has experience in Teleneurology. She sees patients both in and out of the hospital. Dr. Zarkou comes to Flagstaff from the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale where she consulted with physicians at FMC as part of the Mayo Clinic’s Teleneurology Program.

Educations and Certification

Dr. Zarkou earned her medical degree from University of Arizona College of Medicine. She completed her internship, Neurology residency and Clinical Neurophysiology/EEG fellowship at the Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education in Arizona. In addition to her medical training, Dr. Zarkou has published original research in peer reviewed journals such as Mayo Clinic Proceedings, Neurologist and Epilepsy and Behavior. She is a member of the American Academy of Neurology and the American Epilepsy Society. Dr. Zarkou is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
